MY STORY

I’m Sandy Lulu, and art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, though my journey hasn’t always been straightforward. I’m a first-generation Iraqi immigrant who grew up in Sweden, often feeling caught between worlds. Being too Iraqi for Swedes and too Swedish for Iraqis, I became ambitious to create something beyond myself.

I decided to study art in secondary school, but school sometimes felt too restrictive, which dimmed my passion and made me think painting should remain just a hobby. Driven by my curiosity about the world and human rights, I instead studied Sociology and graduated with a Bachelor's.

Now, I have slowly reignited my spark with art and am finally ready to take the leap and build my career as an artist. I love experimenting with different techniques and materials and do anything from oil to water.
